Each Scripted Scarves© is crafted from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET), a sustainable material derived from single-use plastic bottles. RPET is a material that transforms discarded plastic bottles into a versatile fabric.
The process begins with the collection of used plastic bottles, which are then cleaned and shredded into tiny flakes. These flakes are melted and spun into yarn, which is subsequently woven into fabric.
The result is a high-quality, durable textile that not only looks and feels great but also contributes to reducing the environmental burden of plastic waste.
At Diri, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond creating eco-friendly scarves. We are proud to partner with Trees4Trees, an organization dedicated to reforestation and sustainable community development.
With every purchase of a Scripted Scarves©, we pledge to plant a tree, contributing to the restoration and growth of forests. These trees will grow to become part of the forest, providing habitats for wildlife, improving air quality, and capturing CO2 from the atmosphere.
Every tree planted is a step towards a greener, more sustainable future.
